“In properly organized groups no faith is required; what is required is simply a little trust and even that only for a little while, for the sooner a man begins to verify all he hears the better it is for him.”
-G. I. Gurdjieff as quoted by Ouspensky, In Search of the Miraculous, Fragments of an Unknown Teaching
The Gurdjieff Foundation of Sacramento is affiliated with the Gurdjieff Foundations worldwide. We hold regular meetings, practice the music and movements, and study the Gurdjieff teaching (usually referred to as “The Work”). In addition, weekend activities provide the opportunity for practical work with others.
Besides Gurdjieff, many of his senior students have influenced our group, through their direct presence or their writings. These include Jeanne de Salzmann, Lord John Pentland, P. D. Ouspensky, Michel de Salzmann, and Paul Reynard.
